About Me

The first time I fell, I fell in love with books… ©

As a child, all I wanted was unlimited access to books and to exist solely to immerse myself in the worlds which I found there. You may think to yourself that I must have been a bit of a lonely child, and I suspect that you may be right.

As a student applying for college, a well-meaning guidance counsellor advised me to apply for Social Science as it was a field of study which left all options open for later career decisions. I didn’t last one semester. It left me nonplussed, as the subject didn’t engage me.

For a few years, the adventures of young adulthood became my primary focus. When I became the mother of a beautiful impetuous little girl, I realized that time was finite and went back to school to study literature and creative writing. Being true to myself, I absolutely loved the entire experience.

To this day, I am a voracious reader. I read books in almost every genre, traditional and indie. I am always on the lookout for the next book to read. I read to entertain myself, and I read to challenge my beliefs. Every once in a while, I read a book which changes how I interact and view the world.

I started my blog to connect with others who may have a similar passion for storytelling in all its forms.

I am writing as well and am trying to write the book I wish to read. I feel it’s such a challenging venture because when you read as much as I do, it almost never seems “perfect” enough.

I will accept submissions for review (published traditionally and indie) however I am not accepting paid promotions as it is important to me to keep my reviews as authentic as possible.

Thank you for joining me on this journey,

Melle
